The Copper Penny is our go to place since they opened in Rutherfordton. We have taken many friends there for food, drinks, conversation, and ambiance. We always sit in the bar. It’s the best. HOWEVER, a big negative for a while now has been the live music in the bar. It’s so loud you have to scream to carry on a conversation. Not enjoyable. I’d suggest moving the music back outside like it used to be or starting it at 7 instead of 6 (it actually started at 5 tonight) so old folks like us can can come in at 5 and be out of there before it starts. I still give it a 5 though because we really like going there.

What a fantastic dining experience! The atmosphere was charming, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend the hamburger steak, which was fresh and delicious. The bartender Kimmy was nice.

My friends and I had a great time here at lunch. The Foothills sandwich was very good and the beer selection was great. Our server, was amazing. I forgot her name, but she has amazing French braids! Between her and the food, I'll definitely be back!!

Great food in a fun location. The pimento chesse fritters were amazing. The bourbon burger was also delicious. Service was a bit slow but they appeared to be understaffed at the time. There are many items on the menu that sound delicious and that I would like to try on future visits.

A contractor and I stopped here for dinner after meeting clients. Live band, great food, great atmosphere and GREAT SERVICE! Kiersten was amazing! They have a prime rib special on Thursday night but it sells out quick and I missed getting one. Ribeye was good. Very busy, small town spot that everyone loves - including me! Patio was not crowded because it was hot, but I bet most nights it is packed.

Every time I come to Rutherford I eat here. The drinks are delicious, the food is delicious, and the service is always top tier and they are very busy so it's surprising. I just want the chicken meal back on the menu lol. I can't remember the name but it's like the Monterey chicken. I always leave full, happy, and tipsy 😊😊😊
